Darwin A Erdman, age 88, of Erdman, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 at his residence.

He was born on Friday, July 12, 1935, in Klingerstown, a son of the late Farus Erdman and the late Mazie (Engle) Erdman.

Darwin was a lifelong farmer, owning and operating the family farm until becoming ill.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman.

He was also a member of Spruce Spring Hunting Camp, and a lifetime member of the Gratz and Klingerstown Fire Companies.

He was preceded in death by seven sisters, Violet Kahler, Vena Hoch, Ruby Reitz, Leda Wolfgang, Elsie Kissinger, Diana Erdman, and Eva Erdman, and three brothers, Clair Erdman,Willard Erdman, and Emory Erdman.

He is survived by his wife Shirley M (Enders) Erdman, to whom he was married for 67 years.

He is also survived by two sons, Rodney W Erdman and his wife Sherry of Erdman, and Shawn E Erdman and his wife Penny of Klingerstown; a daughter, Cindy M Masser of Valley View; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Leona Musick of Matamoras, Bernice Koppenhaver of Gratz, and Elaine Dietrich of Klingerstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman, on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Pat Wirick officiating.

A viewing will be held from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday at the church.

Burial will be in Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Cemetery.
