Click here to view the Video Tribute for Dale. Dale Robert Smeltz, age 61, of 6 Smeltz Drive, Hegins, passed away Tuesday, November 28th, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Trevorton, on March 31, 1945, a son of the late Paul R and Hannah S (Phillips) Smeltz. He was a 1963 graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School, Elizabethville. He was a self employed Excavating Contractor. He was a member of F&AM Valley Lodge 797, Valley View, the Harrisburg Consistory, and the Tremont Royal Arch. He was also a member of the Land Improvement Contractors of America. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. He is survived by his wife Darla R (Straw) Smeltz., to whom he was married for 43 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons Troy A Smeltz and Travis E Smeltz, both of Hegins, a daughter Tami S Troutman, Valley View; four grandchildren; and a brother Dennis Smeltz, Pillow. Memorial Service were held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2006 with Rev. Philip Sabas officiating. Visitation was held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday at the church. There will be no viewing. Masonic Services were conducted by members of Valley Lodge 797 at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Burial was private at the convenience of the family in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, P.O.
