Clifford L Porter, age 62, of 1719 W Main Street, Valley View, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 7, 2008 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, October 10, 1946 in Pottsville, a son of the late Warren L.Porter and the late Edna E. (Adams) Porter. He was a graduate of the former Porter Tower High School, Tower City and the Breeden School of Welding, Allentown. He served in the US Navy. He was a fabricator for Peirce Welding and Fabricating, Bethel. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and being a grandpa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Michelle S Porter on June 2, 2008. He is survived by four daughters, Tanya R Herb and her husband, Darren of Valley View, Marion C Porter of Valley View, Angela J Porter of Nashua, NH, and Nina N Porter of Valley View; five grandsons, Brandon L Herb, Kyle G Mattern, Jr, Conner L Herb, Austin L Herb, Kaiden L Herb; three granddaughters, Candice M Porter, Kayla K Porter, Elizabeth N Tibbetts; and his mother in law, Lila M Arbogast of Tremont. Services were held at Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins, on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Claude Schach officiating. A viewing was held at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
