Clarence Elmer Williams, age 76, of 311 W Laurel Street, Tremont, passed away Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Schuylkill Medical Center- East, Pottsville. He was born on Tuesday, March 21, 1933 in R. D. Dalmatia, a son of the late John Williams and the late Anna (Phillips) Williams. He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a foreman for the former Hegins Precision Mfg.- Div. of Penn Reel. He was a memeber of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Tremont. On December 21, 2008 he was awarded the title of Elder Emeritus of his church. He was also a member of Odd Fellows Lodge 147, Pine Grove. He was a former Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 185 of Tremont and was also a former Hunter Saftey Program Instructor. He was an avid hunter and traveler. He is survived by his wife, Arlene M Williams, to whom he was married for 54 years. He is also survived by a son:, David L. Williams and his wife, Patricia of Valley View; a daughter, Susan A. Filer and her husband, Jeff of Palmyra; a brother Rev. H. Elwood Williams of Tennessee; and four grandchildren. There will be no services. Burial will be made in the German Reformed Cemetery, Tremont. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 57 Spring Street, Tremont PA 17981 .
