Click here to view the Video Tribute for Charles Charles William Stutzman, age 91, of Valley View, died Tuesday, February 28th, 2006 at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont. He was born in Hegins Twp, on March 10, 1914, a son of the late Charles E. and Mamie Stiely Stutzman. He was a 1934 graduate of the former Hegins Twp. High School. He was a coal miner for Hegins Mining. He also was employed as an equipment operator for PennDOT for twenty years until his retirement. He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ Hegins, where he was a former Council Member. He was a member of F&AM Valley Lodge 797 since 1963, serving as Chaplain for 10 years. He was also a member of the Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Millersburg Lodge, AFSCME Retirement Chapter 13, and the Valley View Fire Company. His wife Edna Kathryn (Kissinger) Stutzman died Feb. 15, 2004. He is survived by a son Robert C. husband of Rachel Stutzman, Corona, Calif.; a daughter Dolores L. wife of Mark Zerbe, Valley View ; two grandsons Rodney M Zerbe, Brooklyn, NY and Matthew Stutzman, Corona, Calif.; a granddaughter Lee Ann wife of Eric Patteson, Harrisburg; two sisters Vera Bolich, Valley View and Elsie Shadle, Valley View. He was preceded in death by twin daughters, by five brothers Luther Erdman, Frank, Harry, Oscar, and Bobby Stutzman; by four sisters Blanche Kessler, Mary Coddington, Carrie Stutzman, and Annabelle Stutzman. Funeral services were held at Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins, at 10 A.M. on Saturday, March 4th, with Rev. Claude Schach officiating. A viewing was held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Masonic services were held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins. Memorial contributions can be made to Friedens United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 57, Hegins PA 17938. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
