Obituary
Charles E Schwartz, age 87, of the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Hegins, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Schuylkill Medical Center- S. Jackson, Pottsville.
He was born on Monday, May 21, 1928, in Hegins, a son of the late Francis A Schwartz and the late Emma M Wehry Schwartz.
He was a 1946 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He was employed at TRW, Harrisburg, prior to his retirement.
He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by a brother, Lloyd F Schwartz; a sister, Hilda Shadle; and a step brother, Melvin J Brosious.
He is survived by his wife Lillian A Yoder Schwartz, to whom he was married for 64 years.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Monday, October 12, 2015, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C Klahr officiating.
A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial with Military Honors was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
