Cathy A. Matter, 47, of 1483 W. Market Street, Williamstown passed away Monday at the Hershey Medical Center after a courageous fight against cancer. Born in Pottsville, July 11, 1963 a daughter of the late Leon and Ruth Kimmel Stehr, whom Cathy helped in the family grocery store in Sacramento. Cathy was a 1981 honors graduate of Tri-Valley High School. Cathy was a Senior Mortgage Officer with PA Housing Financing Agency, Harrisburg. She was a life member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento. Cathy's life revolved around her entire family. She was active with her sons in all school and sporting activities. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents she was pre-deceased by a brother, Timothy Stehr, 1987. Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Gilbert "Gil" Matter; two sons, Ryan L. and Kyle A. both at home; two brothers, Gerald Stehr and his wife Nancy, Lebanon and James Stehr and his wife Debbie, Sacramento; a sister, Karen Zapotosky and her husband, Joe, Duncanon. Nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She is also survived by a special cousin, Janet Mattern and her husband Dan. Services were held Friday at 11:00 am from St. Paul's U.C.C., Sacramento with Rev. Raymond Holland. Burial was in the Calvary United Methodist Cemetery. Wiconisco. Visitation was from 9:30-11:00 at the church. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to her church, 2300 E.
