Obituary
Carolyn R Miller, age 97, of Valley View, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025 at her residence.
She was born on Saturday, June 23, 1928, in Valley View, a daughter of the late Clifford K Schwalm and the late Verna C (Schwalm) Schwalm.
Carolyn was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.
She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, where she was a former Sunday School teacher.
She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star.
She and her late husband enjoyed attending public sales searching for antiques.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her face "lit up" when her grandchildren visited.
Her husband, Lyle C Miller, passed away in 2016.
She is survived by a daughter, Cindy L (Bill) Reed of Valley View; a son, Dan D (Barbara) Miller of Sacramento; four grandchildren, Brett A (Jennifer) Reed, Brad W Reed, Josh D (companion Jessica Clark ) Miller, and Kayla D (Derk) Stiely; and five great-grandchild, Juliana, Brett, Jordan, Peyton, and Aveline.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, with Rev. Suzanne Elliott officiating.
Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc., Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
