Obituary

Beverly Ann (Ney) Wolfgang, wife of Allen N Wolfgang passed away February 24, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, East Norwegian, Pottsville.

Beverly was the daughter of the late Doris Doree (Ney) Dunsavage and stepdaughter of the late Francis "Junior" Dunsavage.

She was born in Pottsville July 31, 1956 and was raised in Joliett by her late maternal grandparents George and Anna Brower Ney.

She graduated from Williams Valley High School in 1974 and the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing on May 26, 1977. She had been employed at the Pottsville Hospital as a registered nurse for 40 years, 9 months, and 5 days until her retirement in March 2018. She worked in various departments in the hospital as a float pool RN. Her PH family was very important to her and she loved them dearly.

Beverly was quite involved in the Ney family genealogy and their related families. She also loved taking photos and always had her camera with her just in case an opportunity arose. Sometimes she would drive her family and friends crazy with the camera. She enjoyed leisurely walks through cemeteries on nice sunny days looking for tombstones. Some of her friends would even indulge her on one of her cemetery runs.

She was a member of the Pine Grove Historical Society and to the FindAGrave site on the internet where she would take photos of tombstones and post them online for people who were unable to visit the cemetery themselves. She was also a member of the Retired Nurses of Schuylkill County where she had served briefly as treasurer and secretary.

She was an active member of the Joliett-First United Methodist Church, Joliett, where she was the church secretary and historian. Her grandmother started taking her to the Joliett church as a young child. She and Allen were married there on October 15, 1977 by Rev. Margie Mayson.

Beverly is survived by her husband Allen, uncles Gerald Ney, Gordon, Robert Ney, Pine Grove, and Ray Ney, Pine Grove. Godchildren Matthew and Adam Rhody, sons of Daniel and Gayle Athey Rhody, Hegins, and many cousins.

She enjoyed "Saturday night game night" with Matthew and Adam since they were young children and now enjoyed playing with their children Bryce and Grayson (Matthew) Rhody, Natilee Shearstone and Gabriella (Adam) Rhody. She also enjoyed watching her cousin's children and grandchildren grow into fine young children and adults.
