Betty A Miller, age 87, of Providence Place, Dover, formerly of Hegins, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Providence Place. She was born on Monday, June 2, 1924, in Hegins Twp, a daughter of the late Raymond E and Olive M Reed Ziegler. She was a 1942 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School and a graduate of Thompson Business School, Harrisburg. In her younger years she was employed as a seamstress for the former Hegins Manufacturing Co. and later retired as a secretary for the former Hegins Precision Division of Penn Reel. She was a life long member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins; where she was a member of the Church Women and the Choir. She was the loving wife of the late Nevin R Miller, who preceded her in death in 1992 after 42 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by two sisters Marie Ziegler Coleman and Margaret Ziegler Nye. She is survived by a daughter Jeanette Miller Shade and her husband Steven of Dover; two granddaughters Tracy Shade Stitley and her husband Rob of York and Tina Shade Swords and her husband Bob of Dover; four great grandchildren Blake and Brock Stitley. and Allyson and Kaylee Swords; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, on Monday, May 21, 2012, at 3:00 pm, with Rev Warren Egebo officiating. Visitation was held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Monday at the church. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
