Betty Delphine Kessler, age 78, of the Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Tower City, died Monday, October 11, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville, Pa. She was born in Sheridan,Pa, on September 18, 1926, a daughter of the late William and Gertrude M. (Kopp) Barnhardt. She was a retired seamstress from the former Bobbie Rogers Mfg., Tower City, Pa. She was a member of Christ UCC Church, Leck Kill, Pa. She was also a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Her husband Earl L Kessler died Oct. 2, 1990. Surviving are a son Robert C Kessler, of Lykens; a daughter Sheila M Murray, of Hegins; two sisters Doris M Heberling and Joyce A Barnhardt, both of Tower City; four grandsons; and two great grandsons. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. Rev. George Reynolds officiated assisted by Rev. Mark Rothermel. A viewing was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the church. Burial was made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, 200 W Main St., Valley View was in charge of arrangements.
