Betty S Bowman, age 90, of Sacramento, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. She was born on Wednesday, September 5, 1923, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Robert and Katie Dengler Pennypacker. She was a 1941 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Ashland Chapter and the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens. Betty enjoyed reading and watching NASCAR. Her husband Henry "Hap" S Bowman passed away in 1987. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Bowman; a brother Glenn Pennypacker; and a sister Kathryn Shue. She is a survived by two sons Carl H Bowman and his wife Sheila of Millersburg and Lee A Bowman and his wife Donna of Ashland; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister Doris Edwards of Valley View; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Brian Beissel officiating. A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the church. Burial was made in St. John's "Kimmel's" Cemetery, Ashland.
