To view the video tribute please click here Bessie E. Holdeman, age 91, of Birch St., Reading, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Reading. She was born on Thursday, October 13, 1921, in Valley View, a daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Lubold) Scheib. She was employed as a seamstress; working at the Oscar Stutzman Factory until it closed and then worked at the Hegins Factory. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hegins Fire Company. She was preceded in death by one sister, June Goudy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Roy (Shad) Holdeman. She is survived by a daughter Gloria Kissinger and her companion Malcolm Kroninger of Reading; a son Kenneth Holdeman and his wife Deborah of Hegins; two granddaughters Kelly Shannon and her husband Steve, and Desiree Neiswender and her husband Rick; four grandsons Randall Kissinger and his wife Merita, Curt Kissinger, Cristopher Holdeman and his wife Tiffany, and Derek Neiswender and his wife Loretta; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Monday, August 12, 2013, at 5:30 pm, with Rev. Warren Egebo officiating. A viewing will be held from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
