Bernice A. Bowman, age 78, of 1036 W Mountain Rd, Hegins, died Tuesday, February 14th, 2006 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. She was born in Hegins Twp, on March 9, 1927, a daughter of the late Ira Austin and Naomi (Updegrave) Harner. She was a graduate of the former Hegins Township High School. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento, Pa. Her husband, Mark M Bowman, died Aug. 11, 1997. She is survived by two sons Richard M ,husband of Patsy A. Bowman, Valley View and Robert W, husband of Carol A. Bowman, Hegins; one daughter Wanda E, wife of Dale H Harring, Valley View; one brother Bruce D Harner, Millersburg; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Jay Harner and by a sister Nancy Schwalm. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 18th, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing was held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial was made in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento, Pa . Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
