Beatrice Lillian Shadle, age 87, of 39 Clay Street, Tremont, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Schuylkill Medical Center- S. Jackson, Pottsville. She was born on Monday, July 31, 1922 in Pottsville, a daughter of the late Harrison Yocum and the late Florence (Ives) Yocum. She was a graduate of the former Tremont High School . She retired from Hershey Foods Corp; she had also been employed in several area garment factories. She was of the Lutheran Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver M. Shadle in 1981. She was also preceded in death by a son Ronald M Shadle and by two brothers Junior and William Yocum. She is survived by a daughter, LaDawn M Schaeffer and her husband, George with whom she resided of Tremont; a son, Gary R Shadle and his wife, Laurie of Pine Grove; four grandsons, William K Shadle who resided with her in Tremont, George Schaeffer, Jr of Tremont, Scott Shadle and Les Shadle both of New York; two granddaughters, Angela Bender of Tremont and Denise Felty of Pine Grove; three great-grandsons, Jaryd Bender, Jayme Bender, and Nathan Felty; three great-granddaughters, Devon Young, Sydney Shadle, and Auna Shadle; and a brother, Raymond Yocum of Pine Grove. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Maureen Duffy-Guy officiating. A viewing was held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial was made in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Tremont. Condolences can be left for the family at www.buffingtonreed.com .
