Beatrice Catharine Edwards, age 89, of Fountain, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at her residence. She was born on July 6, 1918 in Valley View, a daughter of the late Harry Schach and Hattie (Harner) Schach. She was a graduate of the former Tremont High School and Empire Beauty School of Pottsville. She retired as a seamstress for Fox Knapp, Pine Grove. She was a member of Tremont United Methodist Church. She attended Christ United Church of Christ, Fountain. Her husband, John Q. Edwards, Sr., to whom she was married for 46 years, passed away in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a brother Howard Schach and two sisters Hilda Clark and Pearl Brown. She is survived by a son, John Q. Edwards, Jr and his wife, Beverly of Fountain; a daughter, Patricia L Yorty and her husband, Scott of Cornwall; and three grandchildren. Services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Claude Schach officiating. A viewing was held Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial was made in the Church of God Cemetery, Weishample.
