Arlene Mary Reed, age 79, of 2669 W Main St., Spring Glen, died Tuesday, December 20th, 2005 at Good Samaritan Reg. Med. Cen., Pottsville. She was born in Spring Glen, on August 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Paul M and Faye E (Carl) Artz. She was a 1944 graduate of the former Hubley Twp High School. She was a seamstress in several area garment factories before her retirement. She was a member of St. Matthew's "Coleman's" United Church of Christ, Spring Glen. She was preceded in death by her husband William R. Reed, Jr. in 2002, and by two sons Robert C Reed and Terry J Hoffman. She is survived by a son William R Reed, III husband of Lucinda Reed, Valley View, Pa; two brothers Robert E Artz, Mechanicsburg and Charles E husband of Velma Artz, Lebanon. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St. Matthew's UCC "Coleman's" Church, Spring Glen, at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 23rd, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating, assisted by Rev. Carl Shankweiler. Visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m on Friday at the church. Burial was made in St. Matthew's "Coleman's" Cemetery, Spring Glen.
