Amelia M "Millie" Hentz, age 91, of 945 E Main Street, Hegins, passed away and received her angel wings, Friday, June 8, 2012 at Rest Haven, Schuylkill Haven. She was born on Wednesday, November 10, 1920, in Hegins, a daughter of the late Dominic and Elizabeth Sabatino. She was of the Protestant Faith. Millie was a devoted gardener, loved to dance, and worked at local farms in the Hegins valley. She had volunteered for years at the former annual Hegins Pigeon Shoot. Her husband, Herman F Hentz, passed away in 1990. She was also preceded in death by a son Richard L Hentz; three brothers Nicholas Sabatino, Santino Sabatino, and Philip Sabatino; and two sisters Angelina Garcia and Pasqualine Ciocco. She is survived by a son John F Hentz and his wife Cassandra of Harrisburg; a daughter in law Diane L Hentz of Hegins; a grandson Shawn S Hentz and his wife Nicole of Palmyra; two granddaughters Anitra F Coicou and her husband Clarence of West Palm Beach, FL, and Autumn L Walshaw and her husband Bryan of Dornsife; six great grandchildren, Collin E Hentz, Alexandria S Hentz, Jayda S Coicou, Kyra C Coicou, Camryn R Walshaw, and Cadence D Walshaw; four sisters Mary Frey of Carlisle, Rose Ely of Hegins, Sally Hinks of Lebanon, and Florence Rebuck of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 10:00 am, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing was held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins. Memorial contributions can be made to Hegins Park Association, P.O. Box 227.
