Click here to view the Video Tribute for Alma Alma Mae Mervine, age 86, of 1520 W Maple Street, Valley View, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Schuylkill Medical Center- East, Pottsville. She was born on Thursday, November 30, 1922 in Hegins, a daughter of the late Joseph Rabuck and the late Katie (Wolfgang) Rabuck. She was employed as an Egg Inspector for the Twin Valley Farmers Exchange, Hegins and retired as an inspector for Quaker State Farms, Inc, Klingerstown. She had also been a cook for the former Ollie and Lobby's Restaurant and the former Spring Glen Inn. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman. She was also a member of Woodmen of the World Lodge 433, Pitman, Mahantongo Senior Citizens and the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens. She enjoyed watching and feeding her birds and her neighbor boxer dog Sadie. She always looked forward to attending the Woodmen Senior Camp, Lewistown and St. Paul's UCC Church, Sacramento, Mother and Daughter banquet each year. She was preceded in death by her husband, Whalen W Mervine in 1955; and by two sisters Martha Morgan and Eva Reed. She is survived by a son, Roger W Mervine and his wife, Phyllis of Pitman; a daughter, Linda E Mayer and her husband, Ronald of Valley View; two grandsons, Randall L Mayer of Hegins, and Kris W Mervine of Bel Air, Md; two granddaughters, Lori A Klinger of Spring Glen, and Kelly M Scheib of Dauphin; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman, on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Heim officiating assisted by Rev. Richard Nahodil. A viewing was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the church. Woodmen of the World services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the church. Burial was made in St. Paul's EC Cemetery, Pitman. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul's E C Church, c/o Gary Harring, 91 Main Rd, Pitman PA 17964 or to Keystone WOW Youth Camp, Inc, 190 Tannenbaum Rd, Pitman PA 17964.
