Alma Dorothy Hatter, age 91, of 913 E Main St, Hegins, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at the Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman. She was born in Gratz on December 12, 1914, a daughter of the late Clayton and Bessie (Klinger) Hartman. She was a graduate of the former Hegins Township High School. She was a former cafeteria employee for the Tri-Valley School District. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins. She was also a member of the Hegins Fire Co. Auxiliary, the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens, and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, Tremont. Her husband Ernest R Hatter died in 1967. She was also preceded in death by a son Jacques E Hatter in 2004 and by a brother Thomas Hartman. She is survived by two grandchildren Alyce A Leitzel, and her husband Glenn of Hegins and Donald E Hatter of Smithfield, Va.; six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two brothers Jesse Hartman, of Mill Creek, Wash. and Robert Hartman, New York, NY; and by a nephew Terry Hatter. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Carl Shankweiler officiating. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
