Arabel C. Klinger

Arabel C Klinger, age 97, of Valley View, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022 at Green Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pottsville. She was born on Saturday, March 7, 1925, in Erdman, a daughter of the late Harry Straub and the late Hilda (Wenrich) Straub. Arabel was a seamstress in local garment factories. She was a lifetime and oldest member of Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman; where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, church council member, and a member of the Zion Women's Group. She was also a member of the Glen Order of Eastern Star #425, Lykens. Her husband, Marlin L Klinger, to whom she was married for 69 years, passed away in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by a son, Marlin L Klinger, Jr, a granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Hepler, and seven brothers, Myles Straub, Charles Straub, Leo Straub, Harry Straub, Jr, Ronald Straub, Delroy Straub, and Larry Straub. She is survived by two sons, Dennis Klinger and his wife Charlotte of Millersburg and Tim S Klinger of Spring Glen; two daughters, Carole A Hepler of Valley View and Cindy Wedde and her husband Gary of Elysburg; eight grandsons, Matthew Klinger and his wife Cindy of Oneonta, AL, Douglas Klinger and his wife Cherie of Dallas, PA, Chris Hepler and his wife Wanda of Graham, NC, James Hepler and his wife Jamie of Durham, NC, Brandon Wedde and his wife Melinda of Pittsburg, Brandon Klinger and his wife Kelly of Palmyra, Gavin Klinger of Spring Glen, and Colby Klinger of Hegins; two granddaughters, Tracy Gervasio of Harrisburg and Amber Mallonee and her husband David of Philadelphia; twelve great grandchildren; a brother, Glenn Straub of Dornsife; a sister, Mary Sypa of Osceola Mills; and several nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. Order of Eastern Star Service will begin at 6:00 pm. A viewing will also be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am, on Friday at the church with Rev. Dawes Dunham and Rev. Pat Wirick officiating. Burial will in Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Cemetery, Erdman.
