Helen M Knorr, age 97, of 626 Chestnut Street, Hegins, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at her residence.

She was born on Saturday, December 30, 1916, in Kulpmont, a daughter of the late Elmer H Miller and the late Lesta Long Miller.

She was a 1935 graduate of the former Kulpmont High School.

She was a seamstress for former Philmark Mfg prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.

She was also a member of the Hegins Fire Company Auxiliary.

Helen enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, cooking, and baking.

Her husband Leroy A Knorr passed away in 2002. Also preceding her in death in addition to her husband and parents where a son Leroy A Knorr, Jr,; a grandson Joseph Knorr; three brothers Harold Miller, William Miller, and Allen Miller; and three sisters Mabel Howells, Edna Mercurio, and Anna Boyer.

She is survived by a grandson, Kenneth Knorr of Lavelle; a granddaughter, Karen Lesher of Grantville; a great grandson, Robert Lesher of Ashland; and a great great granddaughter, Addison Lesher of Ashland.

Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Friday, July 11, 2014, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C Klahr officiating assisted by Rev. Claude Schach.

Visitation was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.

Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
