Harry F Harring, age 90, of Cressona, formerly of Pitman, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital - E Norwegian, Pottsville.

He was born on Friday, May 13, 1927, in Pitman, a son of the late Harry Harring and the late Esther M Herb Harring.

He was a farmer for many years and then worked for the Schuylkill County Permit and Zoning Office until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman.

Harry was actively involved in the Eldred Twp community for forty years; serving as Supervisor, Treasurer, and Road Master. He served on the Schuylkill County Planning and Zoning and the Schuylkill County Farm Preservation.

Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and in his later years coin collecting.

His wife Janet Kessler Harring, passed away in 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and by a sister, Ruby Smeltz.

He is survived by two sons, Dale H Harring and his wife Wanda of Valley View, and David W Harring and his wife Patricia of Tremont; eight grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two brothers, Dr Maynard Harring of Lansdale and Donald Harring of Newmanstown; a companion, Candis Freeman of Friedensburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Todd Wolfe officiating.

A viewing was held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial was made in St. Paul's EC Cemetery, Pitman.
