Obituary

Alan G Yerger, age 83, of Valley View, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on Friday, March 12, 1937, in Pottsville, a son of the late George Yerger and the late Mildred I (Miller) Yerger.

He was a 1955 graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem.

He served in the US Air Force.

Al was a life member of the Tac Tankers Association and a member of American Legion Post 326 Millersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael P Yerger; a grandson Nathan A Yerger; by four brothers, Gary Yerger, George Yerger, Frank Yerger, and Joseph Yerger; and a daughter in law Jacoba J Yerger.

He is survived by his wife Dolores J (Pinkowski) Yerger, to whom he was married for 59 years.

He is also survived by two sons, Alan G Yerger, Jr and his wife Lisa of Bethlehem and Jason P Yerger of Drexel Hill; a daughter, Alyssa J Leitzel of Millersburg; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Yerger and Paul Yerger both of Bethlehem; two sisters, Mildred Mickley of Bethlehem and Mary Alaimo of Camp Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.
