Obituary

William R. Lubold, 78, of Valley View, and formerly of Highsprings and Fort White, FL died on March 26, at Tremont Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

He was born in Valley View, January 10, 1940 to the late James and Bessie (Schwalm) Lubold.

He attended the Tri Valley Bible Church in Valley View and the Calvary Baptist Church in Alachua, FL.

He was a graduate of the Tri Valley High School Class of 1957.

He was a manager of the former Felty's Phillip 66 Service station, and a former Assistant Chief of Police in Hegins, TWP. He moved to Florida in 1981 and started his own construction business called Star Quality Builders which he operated until retiring. He lived in FL until becoming ill and moving back to PA in 2013.

He was a past president of the former Valley View Rotary club and was a 32nd degree Mason with the FandAM Valley Lodge #797 of Valley View.

He enjoyed fishing with many family members in Cedar Key Fl. He enjoyed hunting in Sullivan County with family and friends and enjoyed riding his Harley and going on road trips with his friends in PA and FL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, of 38 years in 1994, Ruth Ann (Tietsworth) Lubold, and three sisters, Marie Lubold, Helen Smeltz, and Eva Klinger.

He is survived by his children, Melody (Gerald) Mattern of Valley View, Cole (Connie) Lubold of Elizabethville, Kerry (Lori) Lubold of Fort White, FL, and Karen (James) Edwards of Valdosta, GA. Grandchildren, Amy, Tabatha, Christopher, Ashley, Cole, Elexa, Natalee, Danika, Quin, Ethan, and step grandchildren Kevin, Brandon, Chad, Jacob and Jonathan; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Harvey (Hilda) Lubold, Melvin (Loretta) Lubold, sister Lucille Ludwig; many nieces, nephews, and friends in PA and FL.

Viewing was held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 PM at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Valley View with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM. Masonic Lodge 797 held their service at 12:45 PM.

Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
