Russell E Minnich, age 85, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on Tuesday, October 13, 1936, in Valley View, a son of the late Earl Minnich and the late Pearl F (Klouser) Minnich.

He was a 1954 graduate of the former Hegins Township High School and a 1958 graduate of Penn State University.

Russell served in the US Army Reserve for ten years.

He was a former high school and Legion baseball pitcher and also played baseball while in the Army. While pitching in high school and Legion baseball he had thirty-six straight victories.

Russell was an internal auditor for Prudential Insurance, prior to his retirement.

He was a member of Country and Town Baptist Church, Mechanicsburg.

Russell's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by two brothers, Chester Minnich and Richard Minnich.

He is survived by his wife Mary J (Shade) Minnich, to whom he was married for 62 years.

He is also survived by a son, Scott R Minnich and his wife Cindy of Mechanicsburg; a daughter, Jane E Wareham and her husband Gordan of Dillsburg; five grandchildren, Sara J Minnich, Rachael H Minnich, Joshua S Minnich, Madeline J Wareham, and Samuel A Wareham; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.
