Nancy A Hentz, age 83, of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, formerly of Valley View, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at her residence.

She was born on Wednesday, September 1, 1937, in Millersburg, a daughter of the late Claude Straw, Sr and the late Ruth (Hoy) Straw.

She and her husband owned and operated Hentz Gulf Service Station, Valley View, prior to retirement.

She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.

She was a fifty year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Ashland and past president of the Tri-Valley/Valley View Lions Club.

Nancy enjoyed motorcycle rides, four wheeling, and spending time with her family and friends..

Her husband Chester M Hentz passed away in 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by two daughters, Debra L Smeltz and Pamela E Hentz, two brothers, Robert E Straw and Claude Straw, Jr; and two sisters Miriam Mowery and Shirley Klouser.

She is survived by a son, Jeffery S Hentz and his wife Karen of Valley View; a daughter, Lori A Headdings and her husband Scott of New Market, MD; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; a sister, Darla R Smeltz of Hegins; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Suzanne Elliott officiating.

Visitation was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the church.

Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery.
