Beloved Father, Spouse and Pastor, Mark E. Mantz, age 71, of Sunbury, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
Mark was born on Friday, February 6, 1953, in Sunbury, a son of the late Robert Mantz and the late Miriam (Snyder) Mantz.
He was a graduate of Selinsgrove Area High School and Practical Bible Training School.
Mark was ordained and served as a pastor at First Baptist Church, Trevorton; Oaklyn Independent Baptist Church, Sunbury; and currently was the dedicated Pastor at Salem Church of Rough and Ready, Klingerstown. He was a member of Amazing Grace Community Church, Northumberland.
Mark was an entrepreneur with several ventures, including coal sales and delivery as well as food concession sales. He had a strong passion for all things related to the railroad and was an avid collector of model trains and a proud member of the Train Collector Association for fifty years.
His life revolved around his family and the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Barb Pick and Julie Gilligbauer.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne N (Smith) Mantz, to whom he was married for 24 years.
As a beloved father, he was survived by two daughters, Anna Mantz of Sunbury and Lydia Ross and her husband Perry of Sunbury; two sons, Gabriel Mantz of Sayre and Daniel Mantz and his wife Andrea of Sayre; Nancy Mantz, mother of his children and lifelong friend; eight grandchildren; a great grandson; a brother, Charles Mantz of Sunbury; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Salem Church of Rough and Ready, Rough and Ready, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Darrin Hunt and Mike Masser officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Rough and Ready.
