Kenneth Lamar Shadle



Kenneth Lamar Shadle, age 87, of Hegins, passed away August 5, 2014 at the Schuylkill Medical Center- E Norwegian, Pottsville.

He was born on August 16, 1926 in Weishample, a son of the late Raymond and Verdie (Lucas) Shadle.

He served in the Army during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.

Ken was employed by various coal mines, worked construction for H. B. Alexander Inc. and retired from Penn Reel where he was employed as a machinist.

He was a member of the former Weishample Church of God.

He was also a member of the Valley View Fire Company, and the Valley View American Legion.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, talking on CB radios and his dogs.

He was preceded in death by one son, Rick Kenneth Shadle, four brothers, Edgar Shadle, Leonard Shadle, Marvin Shadle and Harvey Shadle.

He is survived by his wife Allene (Klinger) Shadle, to whom he was married for 65 years.

He is also survived by one brother, Earl Shadle; two sisters, Virginia Shadle Maurer, and Doris Shadle Smith.

Services where held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home Valley View, on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM.

A viewing was held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home.

Burial was made in Church of God Cemetery, Weishample.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Frackville Regional Hub, 101 W Frack St., Frackville, Pennsylvania 17931.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, Pennsylvania is in charge of arrangements.
