Obituary
Gloria F Geist, age 92, formerly of Hegins, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Premier at Susquehanna, Millersburg.
She was born on Saturday, April 16, 1927, in Hegins, a daughter of the late Thomas J Geist and the late Lottie Stover Geist.
She was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School and Kutztown University.
Gloria was an art teacher for many years prior to her retirement; teaching in Pennsylvania, Florida, and California.
She attended Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.
Gloria raised and showed Cocker Spaniels, having raised several champions. She enjoyed painting and artwork. She belonged to art associations in California and sold many of her paintings.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers Lawrence and Rudolph Geist.
Surviving are eleven nieces and nephews; and a sister in law.
Services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C Klahr officiating.
Visitation was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
