Gladys Adele Bateman
Gladys Adele Bateman , age 94, of 208 Park Road, Valley View, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at Schoolyard Square Assisted Living, Pine Grove.
She was born on Friday, January 30, 1920, in Kulpmont, PA, a daughter of Harry and Mary "Molly" Irene (Koppenhaver) Schrawder.
She was employed as a finisher for area garment factories .
She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin M Bateman, a brother, Harry "Buddy" Schrawder, and a sister, Evelyn Deibler.
She is survived by a son, Ronald M Bateman and his wife Phyllis of Canvas, WV; granddaughter, Stephanie S Cocoran of Taunton, MA; and two great grandsons, Kalin Cocoran and Loran Cocoran both of Taunton, MA.
Services were held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Duane Bardo officiating.
A viewing was held from 10:30 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the church.
Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View PA 17983.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 221, Valley View, PA 17983.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
