Elsie M Neumeister, age 86, of Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, formerly of Hegins, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Seton Manor.

She was born on Tuesday, October 14, 1930, in Hegins, a daughter of the late Nathan Francis Geist and the late Berdelle Kauffman Geist.

She attended Hegins Area Schools.

She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.

Elsie enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with her family, and loved animals.

Her husband James A Neumeister, passed away in 1971. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by three brothers Russell Geist, Wayne Minnich, and Charles Geist; two sisters Florence Wetzel and Helen Reightler; and by a long time dedicated friend, Clarence R "Smokey" Trathen.

She is survived by a son, James E Neumeister and his wife Mary Jean of Hegins; a daughter, Betty M Trabosh and her husband Joseph of Pottsville; two granddaughters, Michelle R Koppenhaver and her husband Keith of Gratz, and Dr Valerie A Trabosh DiVito and her husband Dr Kyle DiVito of Burkittsville, MD; three great grandchildren, Dustin Koppenhaver of Gratz, and twins Kennedy and Sawyer DiVito of Burkittsville, MD; and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Monday, February 20, 2017, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C Klahr officiating.

A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home.

Burial was made in Salem Cemetery, Ashland.
