Eleanor M. Salllada, 92, of Valley View, died Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Tremont Health and Rehab.

She was born October 8, 1929, in Gratz, a daughter of the late Homer and Mary Schaeffer Scheib.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy 'Butch' Sallada.

She worked as a seamstress in area garment factories.

Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family and especially going on beach trips to Florida, Maryland and New Jersey with her nieces.

Surviving are her three great-nieces, Stacie Wheary, Coal Township; Rebecca Zemencik, Sacramento and Alicia Nunemacher, Orwin; She is also survived by a great-great nephew Jericho Zemencik and a great-great niece Rosie Zemencik, whom she raised as her grandchildren; a special niece, Connie Schwalm, Valley View. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by six sisters, Betty Lettich, Anna Sitlinger, Arlene Scheib, Phyllis Headdings, Lois Miller, and Jean Rodichock.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 15, at 7 p.m. at Gratz Union Cemetery, Gratz, with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, handled arrangements.
