Eleanor F Bixler, age 86, of Valley View, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

She was born on Thursday, July 2, 1931, in Valley View, a daughter of the late Harvey C Kroh and the late Mildred N Morgan Kroh.

Eleanor was a seamstress in area garment factories and had worked for the former Mitchell's Bakery prior to her retirement.

She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.

Eleanor enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, bingo, and spending time with her family.

Her husband Alvin V Bixler passed away in 1980. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by a grandson Clint Bixler; two sisters, Lorraine Barder and Marie Poletti; an infant sister; and five brothers John Kroh, Andy Kroh, Mark Kroh, Sr, Clervin Kroh, and Merlin Kroh.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra E Shoffler of Good Spring, a son William A Bixler and his wife Susan of Hegins; twins Connie M Hentz and her husband Bill of Hegins and Ronnie L Bixler and his wife Anita of Barry Twp; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and seventeen great great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Kroh and his wife Shirley of Lincoln; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Brian Beissel officiating.

A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.
