Edith M Header, age 82, of Barry Twp, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family.

She was born on Monday, March 13, 1939, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Harold E Kimmel and the late Carrie M (Shuey) Kimmel.

She was a 1957 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and the Ashland School of Nursing.

Edith went on to work a career in nursing, before retiring to years of taking care of her grandchildren.

Edith was a member of the Barry Salem United Methodist Church, Weishample.

Her greatest joy was her family, and supporting each one of her grandkids in all of their endeavors. For the boys, she hardly ever missed a wrestling match, a football or a baseball game and for the girls she attended softball, soccer and basketball games. She was undoubtedly their biggest fan. Edith loved to cook and bake, to attend vacations and spent many late nights playing cards with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by a daughter, Wendy L Header, and an infant daughter.

She is survived by her husband Charles M "Chip" Header, to whom she was married for 62 years.

She is also survived by a son, Robert C Header and his wife Joy of Barry Twp; a daughter, Gail M Hepler and her husband Stan of Barry Twp; five grandchildren; a great granddaughter; two brothers, Edward Kimmel and his wife Rita and James Kimmel and his wife Donna all of Hegins; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at Barry Salem United Methodist Church, Weishample, on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Benjamin Scholl officiating.

A viewing was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the church.

Burial was in Salem Cemetery, Weishample.
