Obituary

Delroy Wolfe formerly of Pottsville and Valley View, Pennsylvania passed away on January 24, 2022, at Providence Place of Pine Grove where he was briefly a resident.

Delroy (Del) was born in Spring Glenn, Pennsylvania on August 4, 1939, and was the son of Paul and Violet Snyder Wolfe.

Del started school in a one-room schoolhouse near Gratz, Pennsylvania. Later, he attended the Hubley Township School and went on to graduate from Tri-Valley High School and the Ford School of Business. For much of his career, Del was employed as an accountant by AlliedSignal. As a child he worked on his family's farm and also helped run his parent's general store in Klingerstown, Pennsylvania.

Del worked hard to provide for his family and had a strong work ethic, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was a former member of the Tri-Valley Lions Club where he was named a Melvin Jones Fellow for his dedicated service. Del was an avid Hershey Bears fan and season ticket holder for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors. He kept busy playing the guitar, reading, and watching the news. He delighted in attending his grandchildren's events and took great pride in their accomplishments. Del was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Lykens.

Del is survived by a son Brian and his wife Barbara Blaschak; a daughter Karen and her husband Daniel Turbert; and his beloved grandchildren: Mara, Aden and his fiance Sarah Metzinger, Liam, Ari, and Katie. He is survived by nephews Art and Dan Renkel, their wives Bonnie and Susan, as well as many members of the extended O'Reilly, Wolfe and Snyder families. He is preceded in death by his wife and best friend of 57 years Anne O'Reilly Wolfe, his parents Paul and Violet Wolfe, as well as a sister Una Wolfe Renkel.

Del's family is very grateful for the compassionate care he received throughout his illness from Lehigh Valley Schuylkill, Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest, Providence Place of Pine Grove and Compassus Hospice Care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, 732 East Main Street, Lykens on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael Opoki AJ as celebrant.
