Carole L Shadle, age 81, formerly of Hegins, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.

She was born on Sunday, July 6, 1941, in Valley View, a daughter of the late William L Boyer and the late Erma Irene (Spotts) Boyer.

She was a graduate of Tri-Valley High School.

Carole was a cook at the former Jack's Restaurant and at the Valley View Bowling Alley, she retired as a clerk for Tri-Valley Pharmacy.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.

Carole was an avid card player and enjoyed cooking, and spending time with her family. She was especially proud of the Memorial Day picnic that was held annually at her home.

Her husband, Frank T Shadle, passed away in 1993.

She is survived by two sons, Curtis F Shadle and his wife Cindy of Galeton and William D Shadle and his wife Jill of Collierville, TN; a grandson, Mathew Shadle of Burbank, CA; three granddaughters, Alicia Sprow and her husband Matt of Sylvania, OH, Lauren House and her husband Travis of Spring Hill, TN, and Kristen Duncan and her husband Jack of Collierville, TN; and three great grandchildren, Norah, Owen, and Brooks.

Funeral services were held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc, Valley View, on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Lee Diefenderfer officiating.

Visitation was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home.

Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View.
